Carolina Apple Cake Recipe - Baked Goods Recipes

Mix: 1 1/2 c Cooking oil

2 c Sugar

4 Eggs beaten

Sift: 3 c All purpose flour

1 ts Salt

2 ts Vanilla

Add: 1 ts Baking soda

3 c Diced peeled apples

1 c Chopped nuts

Sauce: 1 ts Butter

1 c Brown sugar

1/4 c Milk

1 tb Vanilla

Recipe by: Governor James B. Hunt Jr., North Carolina Simmer Sauce for 3 minutes, then pour over warm cake. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour. JO's note: are you supposed to cook the cake and then serve it with the prepared sauce over it, or prepare the sauce and pour over cake batter and THEN bake?
